The story of this Champagne Charles Ellner begins in 1905 with Charles-Émile Ellner. He started as a stirrer in a Champagne domaine in Epernay. After some years, he started to acquire some parcels of vines. Parcels after parcels, they developed their name. His son, Pierre, then expanded the domaine in France and abroad, and today it is renowned as a top-quality Champagne.

5 – Traditions and Elegance

These are the two words that represent Champagne Charles Ellner. Located in the heart of the Champagne region in Epernay, this estate has preserved its independence for over a century. While creating exceptional cuvées year after year, this estate and its values have been handed down from generation to generation within the Ellner family. After more than 100 years of existence, the 3rd, 4th and 5th generations work hand in hand to create new cuvées.

3 – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier

A little bit of history to understand why Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are the grape varieties of the Champagne. It was in the 19th century that the change took place, in a bid to improve the quality of Champagne wines. At that time, many grape varieties were still present in this region.  So they made a meticulous selection of grape varieties to keep those of the highest quality. That’s when these three grape varieties were chosen. They create an excellent balance between sugar and acidity, perfect for sparkling wines, a rich wine and a subtle taste.
